Poem of the Transparent Girl

7 05 2009

For our Intermedia I class, we  were taught how to rotoscope using Adobe Flash. We were all given 40 frames to rotoscope and they were then blended together with the original audio to re-create the poem. This is the final product. For those curious, my part appears from 1:31 – 1:35.

Make-Up Artist

5 05 2009

fiend_fullbody-copy

A few posts ago, I mentioned that I was selected to be onboard the crew of an Elaine Wai photoshoot. I was asked to be the make-up artist for the “fiend”. She recently sent me the pictures of the final work, so I can now show my make-up / prosthetic talents. I’m very proud of her final work and pleased to have worked with her. This isn’t all of her photoshoot, but the pictures showing my work. All copyright of these photographs belong to Elaine Wai. They can only be used under her approval.

New Ad

5 05 2009

I recently got hired to shoot a dance show for my friend’s sister. Unlike the program for the High School variety show, I’ve been given ad space for the program. So I quickly designed something using that reflective illusion on illustrator. The tripod has been vectorized (the one used in my SBE intro video) and the camera is the one I used in my self-portrait for my Intermedia class. The lens was not mine, I got lazy and just searched for a free vectorized lens I could use. All-in-all, it looks pretty good. Simple, classy, to the point. Hopefully people will understand the e-mail at the bottom, that’s my only worry. Although you really have to be internet unsavvy  to not get it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN4g55BIA1c

The Hot Mess is a web series where Phil Stamper talks about the latest buzz in media. Not only is he entertaining to watch, but he gives you quick and easy information that’s good to know. Use it to start up a quick conversation!!

In this episode he give a nice shout out to my Doritos commercial! Thanks Phil!

Doritos Guru

7 03 2009

Doritos have a contest open to all Canadian citizens. Using their new unidentified flavour, we have to make up a commercial for it in 30 seconds. After days of waiting, they finally posted up the entry Ryan and I made. The winner gets $25,000 and 1% future net sales of that flavour. Like the other hundreds of applicants, we’re hoping for the best!

Sam’s Global Video

25 02 2009

So today I officially launched “Sam’s Global Video”, a project that I’ve been thinking about for a few months now. I’ve been hesitant on actually going through with it just because I’ve never depended so much on other people to make a video successful. It requires anyone I’ve ever known to record themselves saying “I know Sam Brisson.” If they want, they can add extra comments keeping it under 20 seconds. It’s almost the end of the first day and I have 71 members in the group. Hopefully these are people who actually want to record something and didn’t just approve of the group invite for the hell of it. I’ve already got one entry, and I’m just crossing my fingers that this thing will turn out!

Make-up Artist?

24 02 2009

A few days ago I was contacted by Elaine Wai, a Photography student at Concordia University. She messaged me saying that my name was dropped as a latex prosthetic make-up artist (one of my classmates had mentioned me.) Anyway, her planned shoot is tomorrow and wednesday, so I’m pretty excited for it since I’ve never done anything like this before. I’ve seen some of her pictures and I’m quite impressed with her work. Once I get some of those pictures, I’ll post them up on here but for now, you can go to her website at http://acquiescences.deviantart.com/.

Illustrator Tracing: Self-Portrait

10 02 2009

Alright, so the assignment was to create an illustration of myself using Adobe Illustrator. We then had to create a patterned background that is relevant to your life. So here’s my final product. We also had to be very selective of the colors used. I further experimented with the pattern swatch by creating the laces as such, and I also used a gradient for my jacket.

Illustrator Tracing

5 02 2009

Well, it’s almost 1:30 am.. and I should be sleeping since I have a big day tomorrow. When I got back home from work, I decided to practice on my Illustrator homework. Now I’m supposed to do an illustration of myself, but I figured I would practice on a picture of Nikki. Three hours later, and I somewhat wish I had worked on mine, but this was NOT a waste of time. I’m quite proud of my first tracing in Illustrator and I think I might do a few more in the future. Next one will be mine though.
